GEEK TOOLS
This is just a bunch of technical tools that I think many network and computer
professionals may find useful. Mostly they are simple Windows 2000 tools; this
is in no way meant to be a comprehensive or high-end list of tools (espescially
not the security tools), but rather a set of quick and easy things that can
be used on your system and your network.

- OpenOffice.org - A complete Open Source office suite, with word processing, presentations, and spreadsheets
- AbiWord - A very well-done word processor, almost equal to Word
- Multimedia Applications
- The Gimp - A bitmap editor with a lot of high-end features
- Inkscape - A high-end vector graphics package
- Audacity - A very nice sound editor
- Picasa - A photo management program with some great organizational features and even some decent editing
- Planning & Organization Aids
- GanttProject (requires
java)- A Gannt chart program (like
MS Project), can output HTML pages
- TreeLine - A nice organizational aid that helps keep track of data in a tree format
- 3D Design & Rendering
- Blender 3d - An all-in-one application with modelling, animation, rendering, and even game engine output in one package
- K3D - A popular modelling & animation interface
- Aqsis - A high power, Renderman-complaint rendering engine
- POV-Ray - One of the classic raytracing engines
