Yeah, I know we’ve all seen this, but:
I love it. Of course, I’m “that guy” that loved the Transformers movie, too. It won’t be perfect, but given what Hollywood is willing to pump out, it looks good to me.
Besides, do you really want this on your movie screen? Do you?

Joe, Joe, Joe — you can’t let the occasional silliness of the cartoon blind you to the excellence that is the Larry Hama-era GI Joe comic. At it’s best (far better than any comic based on a toy had a right to be), the GI Joe comic was really good, often dark, and not at all silly like the cartoon. And most of the costumes didn’t look as ridiculous as the clip above. Certainly not for the particular characters who are in the movie. Ripcord, Hawk, Duke — those guys didn’t look silly.
And how can any real child of the 80s think it is acceptable for Destro not to have a metal mask around his head?
